BodyFit NT has the NT's only Medicare and Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP). What does that mean? An Exercise Physiologist is a professional from within the field of exercise science who specialises in either health and fitness or exercise rehabilitation, and provides long term exercise prescirption to those individuals with metabolic/cardiovascular/neurological complications. For an exercise physiologist to become registered with Medicare and DVA they must meet strict criteria set by the Australian Association of Exercise and Sport Science (AAESS). This includes university qualification as well as many clinical hours and specialisation in a chosen field. Across Australia there are over 500 AEP's.

At BodyFit NT we specialise in chronic disease management, where individuals with a chronic condition lasting more than 6 months may be eligible for a team care arrangement (TCA) with their GP and other Allied Health Practitioners. Some conditions that have been proven through research and our personal experience to benefit from exercise intervention include:

If you have any of the above conditions, you have two choices: make a private booking for a consultation with our Exercise Physiologist OR talk to your GP about a TCA which will enable you to receive a Medicare rebate for EP and other Allied Health services to help to care for and manage your condition in the best possible way.

DVA patients are eligible for free service with a referral from their GP. Contact us or your GP for more information.
