Exercise Physiology / Chronic Disease Management

BodyFit NT has the NT's only Medicare and Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP). What does that mean? An Exercise Physiologist is a professional from within the field of exercise science who specialises in either health and fitness or exercise rehabilitation, and provides long term exercise prescirption to those individuals with metabolic/cardiovascular/neurological complications. For an exercise physiologist to become registered with Medicare and DVA they must meet strict criteria set by the Australian Association of Exercise and Sport Science (AAESS). This includes university qualification as well as many clinical hours and specialisation in a chosen field. Across Australia there are over 1000 AEP's.

At BodyFit NT we specialise in chronic disease management, where individuals with a chronic condition lasting more than 6 months may be eligible for a team care arrangement (TCA) with their GP and other Allied Health Practitioners. Our Exercise Physiologists are also registered with a number of private health insurance companies. Check with your fund to see if your covered.
