Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you have credit card facilities?
YES we certainly do. We have full EFTPOS and Credit Card facilties at our clinic. - Can I claim my private health rebate at your clinic?
YES you can claim your health fund rebate at our clinic. As we have full HICAPS facilities onsite, you can simply swipe your private health fund card and the only cost to you will only be any gap that may apply for the service AFTER your private health fund rebate.
Note: Exercise Physiology services are not currently available on the HICAPS system, we are expecting this to occur early in 2012. - Where do i park when attending your clinic?
YES we do have on-site parking available. We have a large carpark that is for use by Bodyfit NT and The Jetty restaurant customers so you are more than welcome to park there. - Do I need a referral to attend your clinic?
No you don't need a referral in most cases. We have many private patients that simply choose to ring us and book an appointment. Private patients, regardless of how they are paying for the consultation or whether they have private health insurance, do not need a referral.
However, if your consultation is regarding a Workers Compensation or Third Party claim, we will need a referral from your Doctor to enable our team to treat you under the relevant scheme.
In addition, if you are eligible for a Medicare rebate, your Doctor will have provided you with the appropriate paperwork and all you need to do is bring that paperwork, along with your Medicare card to your initial consultation and we will take care of the rest for you. - Are all of your staff accredited professionals with relevant credentials and insurances?
YES, ALL Bodyfit NT staff meet the strict guidelines for full membership and accreditation with all relevant professional associations in Australia.
As well as that, ALL the team at Bodyfit NT are fully accredited with, Medicare Australia, Department of Veteran Affairs, All Private Health Funds. - Does your team take onboard professional practice students and/or work placements?
Yes we certainly do. We take many university placement students throughout each year as we feel it is very valuable for younger upcoming Allied Health Professionals to better understand, learn and gain further experience in their chosen field of expertise. If you would like to complete a work placement with our team, please contact us and we will attempt to accommodate your request. - Do I have to be a member to have personal training?
Not at all. Anyone can access our PT services without having a membership. However, if you are a member you receive a 10% discount on all PT. - What does an initial consult include?
In your initial consultation, one of our exercise physiologists will take you through our health and medical screening, talk about medications you are on and the effects of exercise to ensure it is safe for you to participate in exercise/physical activity. We will also go over any injury history’s and past/current exercise history to help us design the best possible program for you as an individual. Every client we see is different and so requires different programs. Then its goals time where we guide you through what YOUR goals are and what you would like to achieve. Providing there is time, we will then complete a range of fitness tests to obtain baseline measures and those results along with the information collected earlier will help us in designing an evidence based program and approach for you. This might include a home based program, gym program, rehabilitation program etc.
Finally we will then converse back to your GP or referring specialist (where required) about the outcomes of the consultation and our recommendations and findings. - Why do I have to complete an initial consultation?
We require all clients to complete an initial consultation to ensure that our health and medical screening is completed and that it is safe for you to participate in exercise. It is also so that we can design an individual program for you to ensure maximum results no matter your background or medical conditions. - Can the Bodyfit NT staff monitor my exercise programs?
Absolutely, that is what we are trained for. No matter where your program is based, whether it be at home, a gym closer to you or here in our facilities, you can always book appointments with our staff to monitor, review and progress your programs and ensure you achieve your goals. - What equipment/facilities do you have in the gym?
At our Darwin location, we have a state of the art facility with absolutely the best views in town! We pride ourselves on having a clean and hygienic facility so you can enjoy coming to the gym and exercising more. We have a full gym set up including treadmills, bikes, rower, elliptical machines, as well as full free weight facilities and brand new cable machines, fitballs, rehabilitation equipments, power cages etc. Here at Bodyfit NT we believe in Functional movement and training like so, therefore we tend to stay away from machine based weight facilities and instead train using free weights and cables, we believe and prove that this provides you with the best results long term. - How many gym memberships are offered at any given time?
At any one time there is a maximum of 100 memberships sold…why? So that you receive the service you deserve and so that there is no overcrowding in the gym and waiting to use the equipment. Gyms can be an intimidating environment which is something we understand but also something we have gone out of our way to ensure our facility Is a comfortable environment for all our clients. I encourage ypu to come down and have a look for yourself and see exactly what I am talking about.
